MCS-certified solar installers

Solar panel installers across Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.

NS Booth designs and installs MCS-certified solar PV systems for homes across Warwickshire and Oxfordshire, including Warwick and Banbury, with commercial and industrial solar projects available more widely. We plan each solar panel installation around the roof, shading, electricity use and future goals of the property—not a generic package.

Solar and electrical expertise

Electrical experience behind every solar panel system.

NS Booth has delivered electrical work since 1989. That wider experience matters when solar panels need to integrate safely with your consumer unit, supply, battery storage, EV charger or future electrical upgrades.

MCS certified

Installation standards that support eligibility for the Smart Export Guarantee.

Established in 1989

Long-standing electrical and renewable energy experience from an established contractor.

Designed for your property

Roof layout, shading, demand and future battery or EV plans considered together.

System design

Generation starts with the roof, but good performance comes from careful planning.

Panel layout, orientation, shading, inverter selection and likely day-to-day usage all matter if a system is going to perform well over time.

Solar planning

Every property is different, so our approach is to specify a system that matches the building, your energy habits and the level of return you want from the installation.

  • Roof suitability and panel positioning reviewed up front.
  • System sizing aligned with current and future electricity demand.
  • Clear advice on monitoring, export and battery-readiness.
Long-term value

Reduce reliance on imported electricity and make more of every sunny day.

What this includes

A practical route from survey to installation.

We keep the process straightforward, with advice that focuses on system performance, build quality and how the installation fits into the wider electrical setup of the property.

From survey to handover

What to expect from your solar PV installation.

A useful proposal should explain what is being installed, why the system has been sized that way and how the estimated generation relates to your property. We keep those decisions visible throughout the project.

Property review

Initial recommendations based on roof layout, cable routes, electrical infrastructure and likely energy usage.

System specification

Panel, inverter and mounting choices selected to suit the building rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all package.

Installation delivery

Neat installation, tested handover and clear explanation of how the system works once it is live.

Indicative system costs

How much do solar panels cost?

Our early-stage calculator currently uses these guide prices to help homeowners compare system sizes and simple payback:

  • 3.5 kW solar array: from £3,400, or £6,500 with battery storage.
  • 5 kW solar array: from £5,000, or £9,000 with battery storage.
  • 6 kW solar array: from £6,500, or £13,000 with battery storage.

These are indicative figures rather than quotations. Roof access, scaffolding, cable routes, equipment choice and electrical work can change the final price.

Estimate solar savings

Solar and battery planning

Should you add battery storage?

A battery can store surplus daytime generation for use later, when the household would otherwise import electricity. Whether it improves the financial case depends on your consumption pattern, tariff, system size and the usable capacity of the battery.

We can plan solar and storage together or make a new solar installation battery-ready, giving you a clear route to add storage later.

Your questions answered

Solar PV installation FAQs.

Do solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes. Solar PV generates electricity from daylight, not only direct sunshine. The exact output depends on roof orientation, pitch, shading and system size, so we calculate a property-specific generation estimate before installation.

Do I need planning permission for solar panels?

Many domestic roof-mounted systems fall within permitted development rules, but listed buildings, conservation areas and unusual installations can require additional checks. We flag relevant considerations during the survey and design stage.

How many solar panels will my home need?

The right number depends on usable roof area, panel rating, annual electricity consumption and whether future demand—such as an EV or heat pump—should be included. We size the array around those factors rather than prescribing one standard number.

Can I be paid for electricity exported to the grid?

Eligible installations may receive payments through a Smart Export Guarantee tariff from an electricity supplier. Export arrangements and rates vary, so they should be checked alongside the system proposal.

Can solar panels and an EV charger work together?

Yes. Solar generation can contribute to vehicle charging when the car is connected during generating hours. We can consider solar PV, battery storage and EV charging as one coordinated electrical system.
